Halloween Arrangement with Gladioli and Physalis (Chinese Lanterns) by Lynda OwenHalloween is the time to come out to play and this lurid coloured spider is obviously dressed in his best and off to the devils disco. He is the inspiration for the Halloween arrangement featured on this page.  Purple and orange are great combinations of colour, add a splash of lime green to make things zing, then wow wee let the party begin.

Take a small square cube from the OASIS® range of Acrylic containers fill it with soaked Oasis® Ideal Floral foam and decorate the outside of the container with purple wool and orange cane.

Three Purple Prince Gladioli are the main flowers standing erect in the centre of the foam with groups of Physalis (Chinese Lanterns), and dark Heuchera leaves, then intersperse with  lime green Olearia (Tree Aster).  Make sure all flower stems are cut with a knife diagonally to allow maximum intake of water, then push the stem firmly into the foam.

Open some of the Physalis by running a knife down the veins then peel back the petals to expose the orange fruit inside.
Finally swirl bright orange cane through and around the flowers to give a dancing effect.

Even witches on a budget will be able to conjure up this economical arrangement.

Ingredients
3 Purple Prince Gladioli
1 stem Physalis (Chinese Lanterns)
1 stem of Oleria (often found in Safari bunches)
5 Heuchera leaves.
Purple wool and orange cane.
1/3 rd of a block of Oasis® Ideal floral foam
1 small Oasis® Acrylic cube
