With winter closing in fast and the last of the burnished leaves falling rapidly from the trees, there is still time to give the home a glowing autumnal look before Christmas really takes hold.
The Physalis (Chinese Lanterns) have been sensational this year, so majestic, a real value buy as they last for such a long time and even when the stems may have rotted the lanterns can be cut off and used as a decoration in a bowl or strung into a garland.
This bright arrangement is made in an OASISĀ® Floral Products Acrylic container; a layer of bright orange chippings lines the bottom of the container. Soak OASISĀ® Ideal Floral foam and cut to fit the container. The beauty of these Physalis is their length; it would be sacrilege to chop them all down so keep them tall and group in the centre of the foam for real impact. The natural coloured Ting Tings will help support the Physalis. Use Aralia leaves around the edge of the container as a platform for the Leucospermum Succession aptly named Pincushion Proteas. Finally fill in with lime green foliage to make the design zing and give a swish of textural sisal on a roll as a concluding flourish. Enjoy the last rays of autumn |
